A Little Color | Enthusiasm Character Time Activity
Enthusiasm is: “Expressing joy in each task as I give it my best effort.” This means to have a good attitude and do your best in every situation.
Supplies Needed:
3-5 pictures in color and copies of those pictures in black and white
Before you begin, take the color pictures and cut them in quarters. Hide the pieces around the room. Lay the black and white pictures on a table and show them to your child. Then have them find all the pieces of the color pictures. When they find a piece, they can figure out which black and white picture it corresponds to and then place the piece on top of it. Have your child keep looking until all the black and white pictures have the completed, corresponding color picture on top of them.
Talk About It: Color might not seem like much, but it can make a big difference. Enthusiasm is the same way. Some of our jobs might seem boring, like the black and white pictures, but enthusiasm can make those jobs better. The jobs themselves don’t change, but our attitude and how we view the job can affect whether we see it as exciting or boring. Showing enthusiasm and having a good attitude can make the job less boring and can help us find fun ways to do it. Just like a little bit of color, a little bit of enthusiasm can make a difference. When you have a job you don’t want to do, look for something that is your favorite color and use it as a reminder to do your work enthusiastically!
