What’s on the Inside? Creativity Character Time Activity

Creativity is: “Finding different ways to see and solve challenges.” This means looking at things in a new way and finding new ways to solve problems.

Supplies Needed:

4 fake/toy diamond
3 small gift bags or boxes
1 brown paper bag
A brown marker

Beforehand, use the marker to color brown blotches on the paper bag, and then crumple the bag. Place one diamond in each of the four bags. Then show the bags to your child and discuss what differences or similarities they see between each of the four. Then let your child look inside each bag and find the diamond.

Talk About It: Each of the four bags looked different on the outside, and some looked nicer than others, but they all had an equally valuable diamond on the inside. People are like this as well. God used creativity when He made people and He made each person unique, but everyone is equally valuable. No matter how a person looks on the outside, we are all made in God’s image and are valuable to Him. Look for ways that you can show those around you that they are valuable this week. This could look like letting them go first or listening to what they have to say without interrupting them.
