Half-full or Half-empty? | Creativity Character Time Activity

Creativity is: “Finding different ways to see and solve challenges.” This means looking at things in a new way and finding new ways to solve problems.

Supplies Needed:
A clear plastic or glass cup
Water

Fill the cup half full with water. Ask your child whether they think the cup is half-full or half-empty. Ask them to explain why they think that.

Talk About It: Did you think that the glass was half-full or half-empty? Sometimes, when we are faced with problems, it can be easy to look at things from a negative point of view, like thinking the glass is half-empty. But when we use creativity, we can see our problems in a new way and look at things more positively, like seeing the glass as half-full. The next time you have a problem, instead of getting discouraged, try to look at it from a different perspective and use your creativity to find a solution.
