Gratefulness Tree Craft | Gratefulness Activity

Gratefulness is: “Letting others know by my words and actions how they have benefited my life.” This means showing and telling others that you are thankful for all the good they’ve done for you.

Supplies needed:
Large poster board
Green construction paper
Markers (brown to draw tree outline, and colors that will show on green construction paper)
Scissors
Glue or tape

Begin by drawing an outline of a tree trunk and branches on the poster board and have your child color it in. Cut out leaves from the green construction paper that are large enough for your child to write on. (It helps to stack two or three sheets together and cut out multiple leaves at one time). Have your child write or draw one thing they are grateful for on each leaf. When the leaves are completed, glue or tape them to the branches of the tree. Make extra leaves to fill in throughout the month as you and your child think of additional things for which you are grateful.

Talk About It: In order to show gratefulness, you must first be aware of all the things you have for which you can be grateful. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” It’s amazing how many things we have to be thankful for that we often miss or overlook. This month as you learn more about gratefulness, continue to look for things to be grateful for and add leaves to your gratefulness tree.
